The Gala de la Terre of the Orchestre de l’Agora invites the public to take an interest in initiatives aimed at protecting fragile ecosystems here in Quebec. Since 2020, the event has enabled $513,000 to be donated to environmental causes.
This year, $5 from each concert ticket will be directed to Nature Conservancy of Canada’s project Le Saint-Laurent , which is dedicated to preserving and restoring lands along the Saint-Laurent River. Claude Champagne’s Gaspésienne Symphony will be performed in tribute to this project.
A true sensation at its creation, the Rite of Spring always impresses, as much for its audacious rhythms as for its brilliant virtuosity. To open the Festival de Lanaudière, Nicolas Ellis and Orchestre de l’Agora bring you a surge of shimmering colours and suave exoticism, in Stravinsky’s vision of a “sacred Pagan rite.” This follows Inuit throat singing, Claude Champagne’s evocation of an ancient natural setting, and Ravel’s portrait of Middle Eastern legend, first appearance at the Festival de Lanaudière for the wonderful soprano Julie Fuchs!
The 2026 edition of the Gala de la Terre is a co-production of the Orchestre de l'Agora and the Festival de Lanaudière.

This year, $5 per concert ticket will be donated to the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s project Le Saint-Laurent, which is dedicated to preserving and restoring lands along the Saint-Laurent River.
The Gala de la terre will open in a grand way the 49th edition of the Festival de Lanaudière. This choice testifies to an asserted artistic ambition, a desire for increased influence and a deep commitment to the environment.
This exceptional concert will be held at the iconic Fernand-Lindsay Amphitheatre in Joliette. With a capacity of 6,000 people, this venue offers a unique setting in the heart of nature that aligns perfectly with the Gala’s mission: to celebrate the beauty of the territory and raise public awareness about ecological issues through music.
The presentation, which will take place at the heart of one of the largest music parks in Canada, will enrich the audience’s artistic experience and give the concert a symbolic significance. The audience will be in direct contact with the environment that the concert wishes to highlight, celebrate and protect.
